The Gemstones are mostly for decoration purposes, although can be burnt with them inside , should be removed if the wick is getting flooded.
how to care for your candle;
before you light the candle after the first light you should slightly trim the "fluffy" bits off, to long of a wick makes it harder for the wax to travel up to burn.
remove gemstones if wick becomes flooded.
when first lit make sure the melted wax reaches the edge of the jar as if not will create tunnelling.
